Where do you get your ideas?

This is a question that people ask famous authors a lot, and some of them, like Stephen King, get a bit tired of the question. After all, the *where* seems to an author a lot less important than the *what*, the material you can pull from these “ideas” to mold into an actual freaking story.  Ideas can come from anywhere, right?  Even the most banal gesture or advertisement or association could lead to an interesting tale.

A Shared Kingdom

Something that I’ve been looking forward to literally for years is about to make its debut on Sunday evening. That’s when HBO’s 10-part adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones begins to air. It’s the first book in a masterful fantasy series that I and many of my friends, both male and female, have enjoyed, and we’re all eagerly awaiting how the screen edition will turn out.
