Run, Burleigh, run

So clearly I need to work on my animation skillz, but not bad for an evening’s work while hanging out with people watching TV.

Having fun with pixel art so far. Eventually we might see a game come out of this.

Friday shoutouts: Bold, glad vampires

It’s time once again to call attention to the accomplishments of friends and colleagues. Look at these talented folks!

— Last week J.L. Stevens, late of Seacoast Media Group, started working for Boldwerks (a Portsmouth-based marketing agency) as Director of Social and New Media. That means she basically has all the internets at her beck and call.

— This week Joey Cresta, soon-to-be-late of Seacoast Media Group, announced he will be working as an editor at Technology Business Research.  Read his years of reporting for the Portsmouth Herald here.

— Alex Morris received a GLAAD nomination for Outstanding Magazine Article for her piece in Rolling Stone, “The Hidden War Against Gay Teens.” Check out some of her other work here.

— Craig Lancaster announced book tour dates for this spring to promote his existing work and his upcoming release, The Fallow Season of Hugo Hunter. Craig is best known for his Edward series, about a guy who really loves Dragnet.

— Nick Phaneuf’s band, The Tan Vampires, was featured in a Portsmouth Herald article. Listen to their music here. (FYI, James Franco’s favorite band.)

— John Teti wrote a piece for the A.V. Club called “Nobody cares that you don’t care about the Super Bowl.” And it’s true! They don’t.

I’m sure I missed a bunch of stuff; I’ll try to keep better track next week.
